Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Short version: CSS Cove collects minimal information, does not sell your data, and does not use third-party advertising trackers. This policy explains what we collect, why, and how you can contact us about it.

1. Who We Are

CSS Cove ("we", "us", "our") is a Canadian independent studio building browser extensions and web tools. Our website is csscove.ca. For privacy inquiries, contact us at csscove@protonmail.com.

This policy applies to visitors of csscove.ca and users of any CSS Cove browser extensions or tools. We are subject to Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

2. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate our site and tools.

Type What & Why
Contact form Name and email address when you choose to contact us. Used solely to respond to your message.
Analytics Anonymous page-view data via Google Analytics (no personal identifiers beyond what GA collects by default). Used to understand which content is useful. See Google's Privacy Policy.
Extensions Our Chrome extensions operate locally in your browser. We do not collect browsing history, passwords, or personal data through them unless explicitly stated in the extension's own documentation.
Payments Paid products are processed through Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your payment card details. See Lemon Squeezy's Privacy Policy.

3. How We Use Your Information

Information you provide is used only for the purpose it was collected — to reply to your enquiry, process a transaction, or improve the site. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

We may disclose information only where required by Canadian law, court order, or to protect the safety and security of our users.

4. Cookies & Tracking

csscove.ca uses Google Analytics to collect anonymous usage data. We also store a single functional item in localStorage to remember your light/dark mode preference — this contains no personal information. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

5. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry, after which they are deleted. Anonymous analytics data is retained per Google Analytics' default retention settings.

6. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at csscove@protonmail.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we have not handled your information appropriately, you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

7. Third-Party Services

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process request metadata (IP addresses, headers) as part of providing CDN and DDoS protection. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

We use GitHub for source code hosting. No user data is passed to GitHub. Extensions distributed via the Chrome Web Store are subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

8. Children's Privacy

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at csscove@protonmail.com and we will promptly delete it.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of our site or tools after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
